Concept
Originally, modest service rooms were joined together, weaving a single apartment. Nine small balconies opened their doors, each carefully shaped to create worlds apart, singular atmospheres. Imagine a living room responding to its double, a secret balcony crowned by an olive tree in front of the bedroom, surrounded by mischievous trees preserving the Paris skyline. In the inner courtyard, nature has made its appearance, preserving the intimacy of the shower room, while an “eat-up” counter next to the study offers a haven to relax or create in peace and quiet.
The flooring was designed with strips molded on wood and composed of stone dust, making it resistant and maintenance-free. The furniture comes from the collections of Ego Paris in Lyon and Houe in Denmark, the pots are from Pottery Pots in Holland, while the lighting fixtures are supplied by Artemide, Flos and Garden Lights.
The customer was very keen on interior design, so we worked on details and colors to create a link between the interior and all the exteriors. Our landscape architect created nine 3Ds, nine designs, nine ambiances, with the challenge of planting the plants while maintaining an unobstructed view of the whole of Paris from each interior seat. Terrasse et Jardin de Paris created a lounge area, a planted area in front of the dining room, a lounge area next to the bedroom, an outdoor office area next to the study and a planted area next to the bathroom. Despite the very small spaces involved, this project challenged us to work on the furniture, shading and planting, while leaving plenty of room for living. In the evening, the soft light hanging from the branches of the plants inside the room lets you see the foliage without blocking the view of the whole of Paris.
