Concept
Playing with the boundaries of indoor and outdoor, we began by renovating the living spaces to make them more convivial, joyful and practical, while preserving the aesthetics of the 19th-century Neuilly home.
The veranda was completely replaced by a new custom-made veranda reminiscent of Eiffel structures, open to the sky, more spacious and without visual obstacles. The garden room was transformed into a veritable summer dining room, in keeping with the house’s contemporary decor. The floor is a terrace of noble materials and inlaid lighting. The furniture, with its cushions and seats perfectly suited to the outdoors, adds a pleasant country feel. Clearly, there’s no need to bring them indoors: they’re designed to withstand the ravages of time and UV rays.
As for the garden, we were inspired by the children’s passion for golf, the natural surroundings and the charm of trellises, which are very much in vogue in French garden design. So we took pleasure in designing a driving range featuring magnificent trellises on both sides, large wrought-iron fences with openwork and plants, and mirrors to play with volumes. As for the choice of plants, we opted for sure-fire values, with a composition of intoxicatingly fragrant jasmine, box-leaf honeysuckle pruned into a ball, dwarf palm trees for exoticism, and finally, a majestic olive tree and a lemon tree already well into fruit.
On the entrance side, the driveway has been redesigned with Parisian cobblestones, preserving the authenticity and elegance of the Parisian style. Along the way, a Helxine carpet gently guides us to the home’s formal door, sheltered by a sumptuous marquise and hand-crafted pottery. At the far end, the former garage has been converted into a gym, again opening onto the garden.
