Urban oasis

Transforming a roof terrace into an intimate, country-style space. The aim was to create an open-air oasis that hides the vis-à-vis while maintaining aesthetic continuity with the interior design. What’s more, the shading was carefully designed to offer optimum comfort.

Nestled in the heart of a new apartment in the 14th arrondissement of Paris, a roof terrace has been completely transformed into a veritable urban oasis. The project was carefully thought out to meet the wishes of the customer, who likes to enjoy the sun while remaining in the shade.

The transformation began with the installation of a Houe table, cut to size to integrate perfectly with the VMC, thus optimizing the space without sacrificing its use. A green wall was erected not only for its aesthetic appeal, but also for its functionality, cleverly concealing the building’s chimneys.

For maximum convenience, an Eno outdoor kitchen was installed, eliminating the need to go back and forth between floors. The existing clerestories were ingeniously modified, creating windows that open up new perspectives and visually expand the space.

When it comes to lighting, the atmosphere of the roof terrace has been transformed with a touch of finesse. Spotlights discreetly integrated into the existing porcelain stoneware floor diffuse a soft, enveloping light as soon as night falls. A refined wall light, sourced from Les Jardins, enhances the walls with its elegant glow, while the solar lantern from the same brand, with its soft, discreet light, highlights the most intimate and charming corners of the space.

At the far end of the roof terrace, a resting bed has been strategically placed. Winding its way through the vegetation, it gives the impression of walking through a meadow in the heart of Paris, balancing the exuberance of the surrounding nature with its geometric presence. In this reinvented space, every detail has been thought out to offer a harmonious blend of comfort, functionality and natural beauty.
