Transform a small terrace, hemmed in by large, suffocating walls, into a lush green space that exudes warmth and comfort.

Discover the enchantment of this project, where an elegant terracotta terrace was carefully orchestrated to transform a small space, initially enclosed between large oppressive walls, into a haven of warmth and greenery. Inspired by the magical play of mirrors in the manner of Lenôtre at Versailles, we concealed the concrete walls behind lush vegetation and painted the walls in ochre and terracotta colors to bring enveloping warmth, visually expanding the space and inviting escape.

The bohemian soul of this space is revealed through a wooden pallet bench, embellished with Kettal cushions designed to withstand the elements. To ensure a welcoming atmosphere despite the compact size of the terrace, we selected soothing colors and lightweight furniture, combining functionality and elegance.

Elegant wall lights from Flos illuminate the walls, while the Heatscope outdoor heater ensures optimum comfort on cool evenings. A Winsol awning adds a touch of practicality while preserving the beauty of the space.

To infuse color and character, we chose a Japanese maple in shades of red and brown, highlighted in front of the terracotta wall. Delicate plants are placed on the acroteria, enriching the space with airy vegetation.

The terrace opens out onto a wrap-around balcony, separated by a bay window to soften the wind and delineate the areas. Designer tableware, the fruit of our collaboration with La Compagnie de la Chine et de L’Orient (CFOC), adds a touch of outdoor table art, enhancing every moment spent here.

Finally, we redesigned a low wall by integrating low pots to accommodate sedum and other plants, adding an extra touch of greenery while respecting the overall harmony. This project is a true refuge where elegance and comfort meet, transforming every detail into an invitation to relaxation and contemplation. Despite its small surface area, this space seems to expand, thanks to an ingenious design that creates a feeling of grandeur.
